I was in Long Beach this past weekend as the Formula Drift season got on it’s way! Enkei Wheels is now an official associate sponsor of the 2011 Formula Drift season! We are very excited to support and be more involved in the Formula Drift series.
Even though it seems half the drivers in the series use Enkei Wheels, we are also very excited to be the official wheel supplier to Ryan Tuerck and Eric O’Sullivan of Gardella Racing. Ryan was driving the Red Bull Mobil One Solstice using the PF01 this weekend but he will be driving a brand new car in Atlanta, the 2011 Red Bull Mobil1 Camaro on Enkei RPF1 Racing Series wheels! Eric O’Sullivan will drive the Solstice on PF01s.
Rhys Millen had some great runs and ended up 7th in points for the season opener. Rhys Millen uses the Enkei PF01 Racing Series wheels on his Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
Joon Maeng qualified but had some troubles during top 32. Joon runs the Enkei pF01 Racing Series wheel on the Full Tilt Poker Nitto Tire RX-8.
I was excited to see Michael Essa’s new Z4 on Enkei NT03+M Racing Series wheels! Essa also qualified for top 32. 
Charles Ng qualified for top 32 as well and runs the Enkei PF01.
At the end of the event it was Justin Pawlak who took the win at Long Beach with Matt Powers in second and Dai Yoshihara taking third. Looking forward to Formula Drift Atlanta! – Alex
