mitsubishi colt galant 00

Did you know Enkei has been making aluminum wheels since 1967? Here’s a 1974 Mitsubishi Galant found on the Japanese Nostalgic Car forums. It’s rolling on vintage Enkei Apache wheels and a stunning reminder of what the original Japanese tuner scene looked like.

Back then, Mitsubishi hadn’t set up shop in the US yet, but was looking for ways to enter the North American market. Meanwhile, the Big Three had been caught with their pants down when the 1973 Oil Crisis struck. Customers were clamoring for small, fuel-efficient cars but they had none to offer.

So Chrysler and Mitsubishi struck up a deal and sold this car here as the Dodge Colt. To read more about this car, check out this thread –>click here.
